Do not wear any eye make-up and make sure your hair is washed the night before.
BROW SCULPT
Can I get a Brow Sculpt if I’ve had a facial or skin treatment in the past 7 days?
We do not recommend waxing over areas that have been in contact with active skin treatments in the past 7 days before your appointment to avoid skin grazing.
What is included in a brow sculpt treatment?
A Brow Sculpt includes: shape, wax, tint and trimming of the brows.
Can I have my brows tinted if I have spray tan on my face?
We do not recommend having your brows tinted if you have just had a fresh spray tan as this will cause discolouration of the tint. It is recommended to have your Brow Sculpt done prior to your spray tan appointment.
How long does the tint last?
On average a brow tint can last anywhere 10 to 14 days (on the hair only). Oilier skin types have shorter retention and it can possibly last up to 7 days on the skin.
How can I make my tint last longer?
By keeping your freshly tinted brows makeup free, avoid using active skin care around the brow area and try not to get your brows wet for the first 24 hours.
What is the difference between henna, hybrid dye and tint?
Brow Code Henna can last up to 10 days on the skin and four weeks on the hairs, when applied correctly and maintained post-treatment. It is designed to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area.
If you follow the correct aftercare, Brow Code Hybrid Dye leaves a stain on the skin for up to 10 days and on the brow hairs for up to 6 weeks. Results like henna with half the process time like a regular tint.
Our Tint lasts one week on the skin and three to four weeks on the brow hairs.
COSMETIC TATTOOING
What is feathering?
This method is the most natural looking form of eyebrow tattooing. Super fine ‘hair like’ strokes are tattooed into the skin behind existing brow hair to create density, definition and to help fill in gaps for the perfect brow.
With results lasting up to 12-18months, keep your brows updated with current trends without having to commit to a ‘traditional’ brow tattoo.
What is the difference between powder-fill/solid brow and hair-strokes or feathering for eyebrow tattoo?
Powder-fill gives a more defined, solid appearance, and is usually a longer-lasting option, whereas hair stroke, as the name suggests, involves cosmetic tattooing on tiny lines/strokes in a design that gives the appearance of hair. Hair-strokes alone, with no background, do require more re-touching than other methods.
A good, longer lasting option can be a combination of these, where a lighter powder-fill will be done at the first appointment, then hair-strokes over the top, to give texture and a realistic, hair like appearance. We can discuss these options and what would give you the best result during your consultation. Both techniques are the same price.
Will you touch up someone else’s Brow Tattoo work?
No. Our touch up service is only for our existing clients. If you have had your brows done elsewhere, we do not go over them until they have completely faded. Once your brows are ready to be re-done, full prices apply.
What if you have existing brow tattoo?
If you have had your brows done previously, please send through a photo in natural lighting without any make up on. We will determine whether we can cover them or if you need to book in for removal first. We offer laser-free tattoo removal.
How long does it take for the tattooing to heal?
Your skin will take a total of 6 weeks to completely heal and show true results.
Is it painful?
Pain threshold levels differ amongst individuals. Some clients may experience slight discomfort and a stinging sensation. Be mentally prepared as it is cosmetic tattooing, it is not pain-free.
How long does it last?
Pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual’s color retention within the skin will vary.
To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12 months.
Who is NOT suitable for the procedure?
Please disclose any medically conditions when making a booking. We may require you to bring additional information from your GP to your consultation.
Oily skin does not hold pigment as well as other skin types. Strokes may not heal as crisp and clients may experience less pigment retention. An additional session may also be required to perfect it. Ombré Brows and Powdered Brows may be a better option for you.

Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?
No, you must allow a minimum of 6 - 8 weeks for the skin to fully heal.
Do my brows need to be removed/ shaved prior?
Absolutely not, it is desirable to have as many natural hairs as possible to achieve a natural look. We will shape your brows prior to starting your brow tattoo procedure.
How are the colours chosen?
Your artist will choose a colour that is best suited to your brow hair, your hair on your head, eye colour and skin tone in order to get a more natural and blended result. We have a large range of pigments, sometimes 2 or more pigments can be mixed to create a unique colour for you.
What types of pigments do you use?
We use iron oxide pigments that will fade over time and are naturally absorbed by the skin. Iron oxides are innocuous, harmless and perfectly safe for implantation into your skin.
Can I wear makeup around them?
It is not recommended to use any kind of foundation around your brows, the skin should be kept clean until the scabbing/flaking has finished. This can take up to 2-3 weeks.
Will I be able to return back to work the next day?
Yes, swelling and redness will subside within 24 hours. The colour of your brows will be dark for the first few days but will soften as the healing process starts
Does it hurt afterwards?
The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple days.
Is there a risk of infection?
There is minimal risk of infection as strict hygiene standards are maintained. Sterile, disposable, single use needles from sealed packets are used.
Can I see some examples of your work?
Our Instagram displays recent work on our clients and is updated daily. You can visit @jcaestetics_au on Instagram or JC Aesthetics on Facebook.
Is the tattoo permanent?
Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the colour is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time.
What is lamination?
Lamination is a particular technique which is used to create full, feathery and defined natural brows.
What is used in the treatment?
We transform your brows by using a patented perming system to keep individual brows hair in place and in a desired shape.
How long does lamination last?
Approx 6-8 weeks.
Can I get lamination done if my brows are tattooed?
Yes, as long as it is 6 weeks after your tattoo session
If I like how my brows look after using a brow gel, would this look be suited for me?
Absolutely! The end result is the same as using a brow gel with longer lasting results
What is included in an appointment?
The service includes waxing, tweezing, brow dye, lamination products and a take home aftercare keratin solution.
Can I have this done if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precautionary measure, not suitable for women during pregnancy.
WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?
The LASH LIFT procedure begins with placing silicone pads on top of the eyelid. This technique is relatively new and can lift, straighten or curl, and lengthen your own natural lashes to create a brighter, fuller, wide eyed look. LASH LIFTS are another way to lengthen lashes and leave you feeling like you have lash extensions. No need for extensions and the associated aftercare, this will last you approximately 6-8 weeks. Clients like combining the LASH LIFT with a LASH TINT for that extra pop. No need for mascara, however it can be applied.
LASH LIFTS CAN BE USED TO COMPLIMENT OTHER TREATMENTS
A LASH LIFT is enhanced when you use an eyelash growth product. While your lashes grow longer, our product controls straight or overly curly lashes by giving them an equal lifted look. Black eyelash tint or another color of your choice is applied during the treatment to enhance the look of your lashes.
NO PAIN /NO STINGING
The procedure is totally painless. Your eyes will be closed for the entire treatment. It may feel a little strange not being able to open your eyes for this time. Take this opportunity to relax and enjoy!
THE LASH LIFT IS A SAFE PROCEDURE
Yes completely safe. Lashes are lifted onto our specially shaped silicone lifting pads before products are applied.
NO DAMAGE TO NATURAL LASHES
Select a carefully trained and skilled professional to ensure proper LASH LIFT procedures are followed.
PROCEDURE TIME
A LASH LIFT can take anything from 45 minutes to an hour from beginning to end. Maybe a little longer if you decide to have your eyelashes tinted which will enhance the effect of your LASH LIFT. Tinting takes an extra 10 minutes.
HOW LONG WILL THE LASH LIFT LAST?
A LASH LIFT can last up to 6-8 weeks but can vary from person to person. You will need to repeat this process approximately every 6-8 weeks to lift the new hair growth. If you swim, rub your eyes a lot, or use harsh products the lashes may drop or weaken. If you find that your lift does not last 6-8 weeks, you can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks of having the initial treatment.
ALLERGIC REACTION
Very few people have a reaction to the product but that doesn't mean it won't happen, so to be sure you can visit prior to your lash lift treatment for a patch test 24 hours beforehand, unless the client waives the patch test.
A patch test is quick and simple. A small bit of each lifting solution, & water soluble adhesive is applied behind the ear.
CONTACT LENSES
We ask you to remove them temporarily during the treatment as the eyes will be closed throughout. You can put your contacts back in immediately after the procedure.
MAKEUP
You should leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish, use a non-waterproof mascara so there is no pulling when you remove your mascara. Pulling on your lashes will weaken the lash lift.
CLEANING EYES
Wait 24 hours and use a gentle cleanser.
HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE A LASH LIFT?
A LASH LIFT will begin to naturally drop after 6-8 weeks and your lashes will be back to their natural look. The lashes should drop evenly and will not look out of place. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 4 weeks if you feel the need, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.
I know a spray tan can't be as bad as tanning beds, but is it safe?
The solution has been approved for external use by the FDA; however, you should avoid getting it in your eyes, mouth or nose. Your attendant should apply the solution carefully to your face. While the rest of your body is being sprayed, hold your breath and close your eyes.
How long will it last?
Most spray tans last roughly 7 to 10 days, though certain factors can extend or shorten that period.
Am I protected from the sun?
No. Spray tan solution doesn't have any kind of sunblock in it. If you are going out, put on sunblock.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my spray tan appointment?
Exfoliate and shave the day before (or at least 8 hours before). This will get rid of any dead skin and provide a more even skin surface for the solution.
Is there anything I shouldn't use on my skin before my appointment?
Avoid scented lotions, oils, and anything that could sink into your skin and make your new tan uneven.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear loose clothing in dark colors, preferably something that you don't care about, since it will get stained (especially if your solution has bronzer in it). The stain may wash out, but it's not guaranteed. Your bra should also be the loose variety (no sports bras), and you may even want to leave it off after your treatment.
When should I shower afterwards?
Your technician will advise the appropriate wash off time during your consultation. before showering. It's crucial to avoid any swimming or sweating, not to apply any products or moisturise, and not to exfoliate before this first shower. All of these things can make your spray tan uneven or streaky.
Is there anything I shouldn't use on my skin after my treatment?
Avoid scented lotions, perfumes, astringents, and cleaning solutions with acid or peroxide. Anything harsh or chemical will wear away your tan more quickly
Is there anything I should use on my skin after my first shower?
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Natural, fragrance-free lotions are best. This will ensure that your skin remains healthy and hydrated, and that your spray tan lasts longer.
What else can I do to make sure my tan lasts as long as possible?
While your spray tan is new, you'll want to avoid chlorinated water, as this can make the colour fade faster. In addition, cut the amount of shaving you do down to a minimum, as this works as an exfoliant and will also make your tan fade. Once your tan has started fading naturally, you can resume most of your normal skincare regimen.
